Cramer, Quit While You're Ahead

Well, he was never actually ahead. Jim Cramer made the rounds to discuss the drubbing he and his network took at the hands of Jon Stewart, first on Morning Joe on MSNBC, and then on the Today Show. You knew it wouldn't be long until Stewart fired back.

CNBC Gives Finacial Advice

I am so sick of rich people and wall streeters telling me how things need to be. We tried it your way, now please go and have a hot steaming cup of STFU. This video of Jon Stewart commenting on CNBC is priceless. All because Rick Santelli bailed out on his appearance.

"If I had listened to CNBC, I'd have a million dollars now - provided I had started with a hundred million dollars" is my new Outlook signature.

As a bonus, I've added an appeal from Save the Bankers

Kenneth The Page Responds

Ever since Bobby Jindal gave that universally panned response to the president's address (see it here if you actually want to see it) he's been compared to 30 Rock's Kenneth the Page character played by Jack McBrayer. McBrayer appeared on a test taping (video blog) of Late Night with Jimmy Fallon to rebut. Jimmy Fallon starts next week.

Kellogg's Reputation Slides after Dumping Phelps

Michael Phelps was not the only one to "take a hit". Silicon Valley Insider reports that Kellogg's reputation slumped after dropping Michael Phelps' endorsement contract. Gold medalist Phelps was dumped after photos emerged of him smoking pot from a bong.

It started as a joke with late night comedians and talk show hosts pointing out the irony that Kellogg's products are a huge favorite among pot aficionados, and that they would soon rise up in anger. Kellogg's has since been inundated with calls whose volume has dwarfed those of callers inquiring about their peanut products. According to the Vanno Company which maintains a reputation index of some 5600 companies, Kellogg's slipped from ninth to 83rd.

As an example of the comedic aspect of the controversy, here's SNL's take on the situation:

Apple's New Keyboard-less Laptop

This one cracked me up. It's a news report on a new Apple laptop which forgoes the keyboard in favor of a huge wheel. You enter letters one at a time using the wheel to scroll through letters until you get to the right one. We have an iPod, a nano, and an AppleTV, so this wheel interface is very familiar to me. The thouhgt of making that the main data input device made gave me a headache with the mere thought of it. Still, one person interviewed said he'd buy anything shiny as long as it was from Apple. Priceless.
